Ms. Gordon is one of the few female drummers who broke ground in the male dominated area of percussion.  She continues to influence and inspire many with her soulful and powerful World Beat sounds.

Dale Gordon started playing drums at the age of nine.  In 1978, after moving to NYC, she began her studies with the following top Jazz, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Haitian, and West African musicians, such as Bobby Sanabria, Sue Evans, Frank Malabe, Papa Ladji Camara, and John Amira, Grace Testani, and Michael Wimberly.

Throughout Ms. Gordon's career, this gifted percussionist has played at many concerts, clubs, and festivals.  At these legendary venues, Birdland, the Blue Note and the Bottom Line, Dale performed with a vast array of stellar world-class musicians such as R&B legend Norman Connors; soulful, gospel singer Marion Williams; Jazz-Funk fusion artists Jaco Pastorius and Will Lee; Jazz greats Jackie Byard, Barry Harris, Mike Clark, Cameron Brown, and Mike Abene; and Latin-Jazz greats, Hilton Luis, Chico Freeman, Jerry Gonzalez and David Amram.

Ms. Gordon has recorded with well-known Latin-Jazz artist Patato Valdez.  She is also featured on Jerry Rusch's 1991 CD "Bright Moments" with Slide Hampton, Clifford Jordan, Victor Lewis, Mike Stern and Larry Willis and on Ann Hampton Callaway's 1994 CD "Bring Back Romance'' with arranger, Richard Rodney Bennett, Lou Marini, and Lee Musiker.

Other collaborative efforts include Grace Testani's 1995 CD "Something's Coming" where Ms. Gordon played alongside distinguished artists Danny Gottlieb, Chip Jackson, Mike Richmond, and Jim McNeely.

Apart from her professional performance career, Dale Gordon also teaches the technical principles of hand drumming and percussion.  This has taken place in the following educational institutions: the University of Montana, New York Public Libraries, high schools and various studios in New York City.

Over the past fifteen years, Ms. Gordon has expanded the concept of Drumming and Healing and leads workshops, "Find Your Inner Beats", demonstrating the positive influences of drumming and it's healing and spiritual effects on the Soul.

Institutions that have benefited greatly from these workshops are the New York Public Libraries, Board of Education After-School Programs, various colleges and churches, as well as many hospitals in the New York area such as Beth-Israel, Bellevue Hospital and the Metropolitan Hospital.
